• It's free and open source. I think you'll be able to appreciate the benefits of free, especially if you're just starting out on a budget.
• It's easy to install and set up. The WordPress website touts a 5 minute install (that is, if your host doesn't already have a one-click install which cuts the time down to 1-2 minutes).
• It's designed to produce clean and semantic code powered by CSS. This can reduce code clutter to create faster loading pages for your visitors and less tags for the search engine spiders to wade though to find your actual content.
• The support forums and documentation are amazing.
• Templates allow for easy updating of the website's appearance and making site wide changes by editing a few files
• It automatically creates an RSS and Atom feed for every entry
• It supports categories for easy website organization and more opportunities for optimization
• It's easy to use!

But, It's Not Perfect

WordPress was definitely the no-brainer choice as my website builder, but as great as WordPress is out of the box, I quickly realized there were some shortcomings for the niche marketing goals I had in mind.
