I couldnt believe it when i was shopping in Aldi the other day and got charged 9p for a bag, can someone also explain to me the difference between a “green bag” and a fabric bag, im lost!

I’m an English teacher in Brazil and I’m really interested in the green bags. How much would it cost me to order about 150 bags for my students? Would it be possible?

I’d like to know the source of the green bags, please! We’d like to offer an ecologically sound but inexpensive alternative to the plastic bags we give people to take their books home in.

Well, there’s a massive move practically every where in the world to eradicate plastic bags and just go for green bags. I commend you on this earth-saving move!

Hi Katie,
You just got in under the wire. There are only a few left and I’m about to update the post to that effect.

As for how the Green Bags are different from the canvas bags (which is still good to use if you can’t get a hold of a Green Bag) is that they tend to be roomier; they are designed in such a way that the bottom spreads out to allow for more room.

Also, Green Bags are designed to be Earth friendly and can be recycled once it’s reached its useful lifespan. Not to mention being water resistant (helpful when purchasing cold items that tend to sweat).

For your dog’s and cats’ poopie needs, it would be a good idea to use a paper bag or other biodegradable material instead of plastic bags which take a noticeably longer period of time to degrade (up to 20 years).

Hi Teli, I’m a little late to discover your post, but I would love a green bag. I have just filled out the online form you have elsewhere to request it.

How is a green bag different than using a fabric canvas bag for shopping? That’s what we use when we go to the Farmer’s Market. For regular grocery shopping, we are still using the store’s plastic bags.

Until recently, I thought I was reusing the plastic ones wisely as pooper scoopers for my dog and cats, but now, alas, realize that’s not such a great solution.

Just a quick update, I’m sending out the Green Bags in batches of 20 and the first batch will be going out today, the second tomorrow, and the third on Friday.

Everyone should receive their packages within about the next 10-12 postal days.

Oh no wonder I’ve never seen them here. We don’t have Publix… living out in the boonies (almost) don’t help
