While doing a bit of perusing on the Amazon website, I ran across a new product, called Kindle, which is basically an ebook (electronic book) reader. Put another way, this reader allows you to download various book titles (Amazon boasts a selection of over 90,000 titles including blogs, magazines, and newspapers) directly to the device — no internet connection needed or monthly cell phone charges incurred — so you can read them anywhere. The lightweight device can also store up to 200 books. Being a bibliophile myself, the idea certainly grabbed me by the arm hairs, but the reviews left on the product page have been quite sobering; this is definitely one of those wait and see moments.

Mmm this is very interesting!!
I have a website coming out soon which could use this!!!

I think that Amazon has made a mistake by overpricing the Kindle. They should practically give it away and instead make their money from the downloads.

Does anyone knows if the Kindle will also work in Europe? Can’t find any info about that. I can imagine that it will work for books you have stored but will you also be able to connect to Amazon’s database if you’re outside the US?
Thanks,
Dave

Very interesting for the holidays. Image all those books you normally would carry with you compared to one kindle.
@ Dave:
No, you can’t access Whispernet in Europe.
Yes, you can read and buy via internet and USB in Europe. Kindles and are only sold to US addresses.
