Some time ago, I released my personal WordPress installation files which added some options to the installation page. This is just a short update letting you know that if you still prefer to use the custom installation although it is an older version of WordPress, then do so.
Once you’ve finished the installation process, upgrade to the latest version of WordPress from your administration panel. The only changes that will not be carried over are the deletion of your blog’s address when WordPress is checking for plugin/software updates and the removal of the WordPress generator tags in the theme head and RSS feeds.
