It seems that the Chitika eMiniMalls are the new rage and catching a lot of buzz around the blogosphere. Many bloggers are earning more with Chitika than with Google’s AdSense program.
Chitika is actually a very smart concept - it’s like combining images with AdSense ads and taking it a step further by making it interactive. It’s already proven that people are drawn to the images of what they’re looking for and are more inclined to click through.
I decided to take my own advice and use the AdSense Deluxe plugin to help manage the ad integration. I will be testing the eMiniMalls on the most popular pages across my various websites to see just how profitable they can be.
In a similar vein, not too long ago, I joined the Yahoo! Publisher Network and truly thought it would be the new AdSense — I do believe this would make a great compare and contrast blog entry, but that will most likely need to wait until after the holiday season.

If you’re interested, I developed a plugin that lets you put an eMiniMall right into your post, using WordPress’s Quicktags Toolbar. I’ve seen direct integration into the post improves my CTR.

Hi Teli,
I am pretty new to Internet marketer. By the way, your book is great.
I read that the best place to put your add is ‘above the fold’. Can you please advise where that is on the template and how I can ensure my ads show up each time new posts are also added.

Hi Pari,
I’m not sure how I missed your comment for so long, but to answer your question, “above the fold” means anyplace before the user needs to scroll to continue reading.
Usually, this means placing the adverts in the header just before the content starts or at the very top of the sidebar(s) or just before/after the first blog entry (if it’s a short entry).
Hope that answers your question,
~ Teli

Chitika is definitely an excellent alternative to AdSense. Over the last year I compiled some statistics of my earnings and I actually earned twice as much with Chitika compared to AdSense. For those of you considering Chitika - try it!
